Frequently asked questions

The difference in dosages is dependent on?

How heavily fertilized substrate is and which phase of the growth cycle your plant is in and concentration of the nutrition.

What is meant with capillaries and why does a plant need a lot of them?

Capillaries are the little “mouths” in the roots through which a plant absorbs nutrients the more mouths the more nutrients the plant can absorb.

Why should you flush your substrate in the last week?

You flush your substrate in the last week to remove all ballast material; you do not want this in your end product as it influences the smell and taste

How should Bi-defence be used?

Mix Bi-Defence 1 & 2 together simultaneously in lukewarm water. Apply thoroughly on both sides of the leaves. When this treatment is repeated several times (at intervals of about ten days) the results will be noticeable.

What does SDS stand for?

Safety data sheet

How many hours of light does a plant need during bloom phase?

12 hours of light a day

Why do you need to pre-mix Rootbastic?

Rootbastic is a thick fluid which needs to be pre-mixed before added to regular nutrient otherwise your Rootbastic will drop to the bottom of the tank.

How does tap water affect the nutrients I will add to it to feed my plants?

Tap water has a determined EC level, which can vary by region. The EC level of the tap water decides how much of the nutrients you can add, because the nutrients also affect the EC level. In general you could say, the higher the EC of tap water the less nutrients you can add. When having tap water with a high EC level, you could decide to demineralise the water. This way you can add more nutrients and additives to obtain a better harvest. The recommended EC value depends on the phase of the cultivation cycle: At the start the EC level should be around 1,2 and should be increased by approximately 0,1 every week until a maximum of 2,2. Beware of giving too much nutrients, because if the EC level is too high you will risk burning the roots and destroying your crop.

Some friends told me about various types of growing on hydro. Which types are there and what are the benefits?

The winter is coming and maybe you are thinking of trying an indoor Hydro grow. In the past you had to use a run to waste system because of the large fluctuation of the pH level. Because this method uses a lot of water a recent development is to recirculate or reuse the nutrient water. For beginners but also for experienced growers we would recommend looking for a pH-stabilizing nutrient. This will save the grower a lot of work adjusting the pH and makes sure the plants always receive the optimal pH level of the nutrient water of ultimate end results. Ask your grow shop for the special recirculating grow systems and pH regulating nutrients!

What is the effect of using Bloombastic?

Bloombastic increases the sugar content of your crop and therefore the weight and the smell. Also Bloombastic has an enzymatic effect in several areas

What’s the difference between Bloombastic and other Liquid PK (flowering) products?

Compared with other liquid PK (flowering) products, Bloombastic contains over 50% more bio-minerals (phosphorus and potassium) for which absolutely no ballast substances have been used (sodium and chlorine). Bloombastic also has an enzymatic influence in several areas, and therefore has a stress-preventing and recovering influence on the plant.
